James grabbed an apple, which he ate on the way to the weight room. He tossed the core into the garbage before entering the crowded room, choosing to lean against the wall next to the door while he scanned the room. He spotted David with a hooded figure and smirked slightly, carefully looking over his hooded companion. He knew that the baggy hoodie disguised the skilled blonde, Faye, who had crashed his martial arts class with her brother. As he watched her roll up her sleeves, he waited to see who she would be facing, and when.

The fights went incredibly fast. Merely due to the amateurs facing experts and the amateurs were many. These were the guys looking to pick up a nice chunk of change. They didn't think about anything else. Faye began to swelter in the hoodie. When the temptation to rip it off came, her name("Frank Davies") was announced. Her head jerked up as David shoved her through the crowd. Her mind spun wondering what the hell she was going to do now. Her pondering distracted her from the fact she was in the ring wiht some big ugly mug.
He came forward at her the moment the announcer shouted commencement. Faye came back to reality at his war cry. He threw a punch. She somersaulted out of the way and dropped kick him. The bigger they are, the harder they fall....
He fell with a thundering BOOM. She jumped up and raised her heel high in the air and bought it down in his face. The match was over. Silence reigned until David began a chant and applause.

James clapped calmy but did not join in the chanting, keeping his eyes on the back of Faye's hooded head. He then began glancing at the people around him, beginning with the ones closest to him, and sizing them up as competitors. He could usually tell the real fighters from the greedy participants who did not stand a chance. He himself was one of the bigger guys in the room, though his location next to the door made him less noticeable. He watched silently, relaxing against the wall as he waited for the tournament to dwindle down to quarter-finals or semifinals. He toyed with the possibility of jumping in then, or possibly earlier in case the tournament would not allow last minute challengers. Then again, it was a street fighter tournmanet, weren't rules more like guidelines?

Faye kept her face down and grunted low as thanks to those who congratulated her as the next pair went to fight. She could also feel the burning eyes of those merely seeing her as competition and nothing else.
Fighters were dwindling and they reached closer and closer to the semifinals...
(Feel free to announce your fight I am sure if you wanted him to use his real name or not...)

OOC: Thanks! James finally stepped away from the wall and weaved through what was left of the fighters, mixed with spectators, until he came to the front. He got there before the man announced the next match. "Up next is me, James," he told him, simply sticking with his first name, "against whoever you chose."

The announcer merely nodded before looking down at the sheet and searching for a name. His eyes caught one and he spoke," Next, We have James versus...." His eyes flashed down at the name to make sure it was a good choice. "FRANK DAVIES!"
Faye slowly turned her head covered in its cowl. Her eyes drew dark with each roar, cheer, and push to the ring. She tighten the drawstrings on the hoodie and climbed into the ring. David moved quickly to the ring to be closer and looked almost panicked.

James waited for his opponent to step into the ring, though he was already familiar with her. He looked at "Frank" as she faced, making no effort to get into a defensive stance. He stood there, appearing nonchalant, though he was anticipating her moves. He already had the opportunity to size her up in class and during earlier fights, but she hadn't gotten a chance to do the same to him.

Faye seemed to itch from the wariness. She had no idea how James fought... Or how good he most likely could be... She had ruined her chances of being a new opponent, or rather David did, when they stormed into his class.
She made no stance but began to circle keeping a distance...

James was more than familiar with this process of circling an opponent. Almost all of his students seemed to prefer it. It was a good defensive strategy for moderate fighters, but he considered it to be stalling. He allowed Faye to move behind him for a moment, before turning to follow her with his eyes.

Faye locked eyes with him as she seemed to complete the circle. She shifted swiftly to his other side. Faye jumped into the whirling kick aimed at the back of his head. She knew she'd have to fight offensively and defensively...

James ducked forward, quickly extending his leg out behind him in a quick, attempting to catch her in the stomach.

Faye took hold of his ankle as the kick struck her stomach. She sucked on her teeth ignoring the thumping pain in her gut. She twisted his leg and shoved him back. She then shot out a punch...

James quickly regained his balance and looked at her as her fist flew towards him. He suddenly lifted his hand with surprising speed and met her blow with his open palm, his hand curling around her fist with crushing force. Prepared for another blow in an effort to break his grip, he attempted to sweep kick her before she could manage one.

Faye's feet were knocked out from underneath her. She however did not let go of James. The moment her fist was released she gripped his wrist pulling him forward. Her legs shot out aiming for his incoming stomach.

James' abdomen met Faye's legs, but he showed no pain as he rolled off to the side, still close to her. Skilled in countless forms of fighting, wrestling included, he decided to see how the blonde fared on the ground. Getting to one knee, he quickly reached forward to grab one of her arms in an attempt at the first step - keeping her on the ground.
